PROCESS
The risograph printing method was an intentional choice for the creation of my zines because it allowed me to experiment with color, texture, and layering in a way that visually represented the surreal and often fragmented nature of dreams. This printing method involves the use of soy-based ink and a stencil-like master sheet to create each print. Additionally, the process of layering colors in the risograph printing method has allowed for a unique and unpredictable outcome, resulting in a playful and surreal aesthetic that perfectly captures the bizarre nature of dreams. The overlapping of colors creates unexpected combinations and textures, which adds to the dreamlike quality of the designs. This method perfectly complements the theme of the project and has helped to create a visual representation of the dreams.
